For this part of the project I had to use the Auto-Duck effect which lowers the volume of the song so you can hear my voice. This part of the project wasn't hard and it was very easy to do. I think that the Auto-Duck helped the recording a lot because in the 4th part of the project you can hear my voice but the music was all in the same volume and in this part the music actually lowers when you hear my voice.
DEFINITIONS-
Batch Processing- Automation of a series of repetitive tasks on a computer so that the tasks run without manual intervention.
Dynamic Range- The difference between the loudest and softest part in an audio recording, the maximum possible being determined by its sample format. For a device, the difference between its maximum possible undistorted signal and its Noise Floor.

For this part of the project I had to separate the sentences and put each sentence where I wanted to. I enjoyed doing this because I felt like I was actually saying it. This assignment wasn't very hard and only took a couple of minutes to complete. I also had to use the labeling APP to decide where to put my sentences which helped me a lot.
DEFINITIONS-

Dynamic range-The difference between the loudest and softest part in an audio recording
Noise floor-A level or amplitude representing the amount of near-continuous background noise present in the signal.

After we were done writing the 5 sentences we had to record yourself saying the 5 sentences. This assignment was somewhat hard because I didn't know what to write at first but it was fun because i got to write about one of my favorite artists.
DEFINITIONS-
ADC- The part of a sound card which records an analog, real world sound like a voice or guitar and converts it to a numerical representation of the audio that a computer can manipulate.
Clipping- Distortion to sound, usually due to the audio being too loud
DAC- Digital to analog converter. The part of a sound card which plays back a numerical representation of audio as an analog, real world sound like a voice or guitar.
Edward Christopher Sheeran best known as " Ed Sheeran " is an acoustic singer and songwriter. He released a song called " Lego House " a few years ago. As you listen you can actually hear all the emotions in him as he sings. The lyrics that go along with this song makes you think of what the song is about. Audacity Assignment 6: Name Echo
DEFINITIONS
Mp3: A size compressed audio which is the main format for transmitting audio over the internet.
AAC: Files that most of the time contain MA4.
Ogg Vorbis: An open source size compressed
In this assignment I had to make my name echo. This was a fun assignment because you got to pick where you wanted your name to echo. In this assignment I had to generate silence 3 seconds after my voice. Then I had to make my voice echo.

Audacity Assignment 5: Cutting and Time Shifting
DEFINITIONS-
Audacity Project Format- The format in which Audacity stores its projects. This consists of a reference file with the extension .aup and a large number of small audio files with extension. This structure makes it quicker for Audacity to move audio around ideal for cutting and pasting audio in a project.
Hz- Hertz. Measures a frequency event in number of cycles per second.
kHz- One kilohertz (kHz) is 1000 Hz.
For this assignment we had to shift our voices to another place. I learned how to move a recording around to put it anywhere I want.

Audacity Assignment 4: Add a Beat Under Your Name
DEFINITIONS-
Sample- A discrete value at a point in a waveform representing the audio at that point.
Sample Rate- Measured in Hz like frequency, this represents the number of digital samples captured per second in order to represent the waveform
Sample Format-
Also known as Bit Depth or Word Size. The number of computer bits present in each audio sample.
In this assignment I had to look for a beat. It was fun looking for the beat because it kind of went along with your recording. I learned how to put a beat in your recording all you have to do is drag it to Audacity.

Audacity Assignment 3:Fade your name in and out
DEFINITIONS-
Linear- A simple, directly proportional, one-to-one, straight-line relationship.
Logarithmic- A non- Linear relationship where one item is proportional to the logarithm of the other item. So for a logarithmic fade in, the curve becomes flatter with time; a logarithmic fade-out becomes steeper with time
Gain- A measure of how much a signal is amplified.
In this assignment I had to fade in and out my voice. This was pretty cool because it was low then high then low. I also learned what logarithmic means which I didn't know.

DEFINITIONS-
Amplitude- The level or magnitude of a signal.
dB- A logarithmic unit describing the ratio of that unit to a reference level.
In this assignment I had to amplify my voice which is just making the recording louder.
Audacity Assignment 1: Record your name
DEFINITIONS-
Audio file format- A file format for strong audio data on a computer system. IT can be a raw
bit-stream, but it is usually a container format or an audio data format with defined storage layer.
Waveform- A curve showing the shape of a wave at a given time.
WAV- An Audio File Format.
In this assignment I had to record my voice saying my DJ name I learned that a WAV was an audio file format.
